Coffee at Omeo around 9am saw two starters, two Yamahas.
Alf Salzman (aka Fred Friebe) and his son Tim on their 27
year old Tenere 600 and myself on the TDM.

Really good weather but going to be hot later, its off to Benambra "at a cracking pace" (quote Alf)

Through Benambra and along the Corryong Rd, as
approaching this corner see photo op for the low speed
advice and another biker. He on older R75 BMW.
Had a quick chat, and off.

Stopped a bit further along where Alf and Tim already were.
This is outside of Brett Lee's place at Kings Flat, Brett has accommodation available now and its on the Gibbo River.
The BMW caught up and stopped as well. It worked well
for Alf and Tim as the talk turned to the BMW that
Tim has unearthed in the shed at home and wants to restore.
The BMW rider was happy to help with sourcing spares
and details were exchanged. I posted the above right pic
on the TDM forum and a member responded.
See below.

Graeme,
That is Henning Jorgenson. He is a contract draftsman who has just come back to where I work
and is the guy I described in a recent post.
He bought the R75 about 20 years ago when it had 25k miles on the clock, now it has 500k miles!
or so.
Henning doesnt own a car and is an avowed motorcyclist. Routinely he will head off on long
trips with his swag, camp beside the road or whereever if he feels like it.
Henning is in the BMW club of Vic and organises the Alpine Rally. He told me he was heading
for Brindabella this weekend.
A true gentleman of the road and pleasure to know !
Rick

Note the number plate.
So we all headed off again, Henning kept going but i stopped
to have a look at Mt Bogong from this side, bearing in mind
we would be coming along the other side of it in a few hours.

And another stop a little further on at Sassafras Gap

The on to Corryong, the gravel turns to very good sealed at Nariel and the ride into Corryong is just a delight.
We had lunch at the top of town, quite busy, pretty hot now.

Refreshed its off along the Murray Valley Hwy, a very nice piece of good road thats easy and pretty.

Tallangatta and fuel with a view of Lake Hume at 26 %

Some twists and turns to get to the Kiewa Valley Rd
and plain sailing to the Mt Bogong lookout
(on this side of it) The burnt timber along all the ranges
has turned very pale and sort of looks like a dusting of
snow.

Mt Beauty to Falls Creek is just a blast of course---

with very little traffic.

From Falls it was on to Rocky Valley storage where Alf offered to take my photo. This is the first photo ever of me
on bike (XLV or TDM). Thanks Alf!

On to Omeo with a bit of traffic and home.

A number of pics were taken along this stretch and the
camera was left on in anticipation of this. As I had gloves
on didnt notice while fumbling with it that the timer was turned on. Meaning that each time I lift camera and snap
then drop camera it takes a pic 10 seconds later.
So I have a series of shots of the fuel tank---- ah well.

Thanks to Alf and Tim, not comfortable on that seat
and packrack Tim! Very enjoyable ride.
