Sunday 29th March 2009

We had a ride today, it was about 350km (longer for Narna)
who started and finished from Ensay Nth. It was Narna's first ride with us and a big welcome. Alan and Graeme were the other participants, that gives 2 Hondas and a Triumph.
Narna's bike is a very nice 1992 ST1100.

We went to Hotham and stopped just the other side at
Danny's Lookout. A group of other riders from NSW and doing a 4 day tour stopped also and we had a bit of a chat.
Nice bikes, Ducati and BMW mostly, the 600km new Ducati (below right) hit a wallaby yesterday but with no damage to either thankfully.

So it was on down the mountain to Harrietville for a coffee. Other bikes of course and the blue one beyond my XLV is
the new Transalp XL700V. I pointed out the family
relationship to the Transalp owner but he was particularly disinterested I have to say------
So on toward Myrtleford and lunch. Its the old butter
factory on the edge of town. It was more upmarket than
we thought, the food was very well presented and
tasted good.

So back out of town a little and along the Happy Valley
Road towards Falls Creek.

Fire has been through this season and from the looks they
were lucky to avoid house or life loss.
Regrowth is evident.

Anyway, onward and onto the Kiewa Valley Hwy.
All these roads are in good condition and a pleasure to ride.

Below, great scenery and the Clover Power Station at
Bogong and Mt Bogong itself.

On and on we go with a pit stop at Fainting Falls.

Left, Rocky Valley Reservoir and above is just a bit
further along and showing on the horizon is a coupe burn
that it turned out was in the vicinity of Mt Delusion.

After a good run down to the highway the last stop was at Blue Duck for a beer or coffee.
The road from Falls is fully sealed now with just loose stone when we came over it.
Thanks to Narna and Alan for a fantastic ride.
