The home shots are all taken taken at Cassilis near the top
of Great Dividing Range (base of arrow), others as specified.
Green arrow shows spot on Mt Delusion Road that gives a good view across valley toward Brookville (see photos)

This is the fire approaching Ensay and Tambo Crossing.

The fire plume grew from above to above right in about 20 minutes from around 10am on thursday 11th Jan 2007 ("brian" page shows this close up.
At about 11am the fire, right, got going. Its in Groves Gap area.
This is the north end of the line of fire stretching from Tambo Crossing and is taken from the Cassilis Road near Upper Livingstone  road
( taken at about the "o" in "along" on the above map and looking in towards the front of green arrow)). As the map shows, both ends continued to extend.
Below right is that fire taken from home at Cassilis but zoomed to show detail.

Below left, is the plume from that fire drifting down and joining / obscuring the fire closer to Ensay and Tambo Crossing (along the line of the fire as shown on map)

By about 6pm on 11th January the southerly change
finally got to Cassilis bringing some relief, until the next
round anyway--While we have southerly winds smoke is
the order of the day.
Left, this is taken from Mt Delusion Road looking over
Brookville toward Ensay and Tambo Crossing on 11th
January. (Green arrow on map indicates spot)
Closer shots are on "bruce" and "sandra" pages.

Same place as above on 5th January when these two spot
fires broke containment lines to bring about the situation
that flared on the 11th.
By the 16th January the fire is still burning but doesnt go much further east. The north end
is still active but doesnt gain much more
ground either.
The 16th again and the fire occasionally gains strength, even at night, (probably backburns to stop the spread towards Buchan area).

Left photo doesnt do the reality justice, but does show the scale of the plume (30 or so kms  away). Below, closer view is better in terms of colour and intensity.
